Surely, he means its running and he's locked out? .. otherwise.. why wouldn't you just stall it?

Didn't want to stall it encased I needed it on..., lol. The car was towed to the dealership. There was no button under the steering column in that little panel... there looks like there's a spot for it but no button.

Big question for you guys. Is the ignition tumbler thingy a recall item? So there is a service bulletin for it but is it gonna cost me money for them to fix it?

The sticking ignitions aren't a recall but they are a service bulletin... if you complain they should change it out free of charge...

nah, Im at 40k miles.. this is only covered under the 3yr 36k mile warranty.

The lady told me on the phone that they will still cover it under warranty even though my warranty is up. They are trying to make it look as though there doing me a huge favor so I think that they are an awesome dealership and that Id come back for work from them.

If that were true, our batteries would constantly be dyeing and

Take off the coil cover, then unplug the coil packs one at a time... since you don't want to stall it...
Or,
Take off your front wheel, and plug up your air filter with a bunch of rags.

Some Cobalt's are under an actual recall for the Ign Cylinder replacement. If you want you can give me your VIN and I'll check to see if it's under the recall or not. Some dealers try and make it look like they are doing you a favor when it's under warranty anyways . My 09 has the recall on it. I hadn't replaced it yet but it probably needs it. The new ignition cylinder is a lot better design than the original.

It's at Williams Chevrolet right now. The service lady in charge of it is Kathy.

She told me that there was no recall for my car via VIN except for the power steering and charge pipe.

lol. No they are going to fix it under warranty but they let me know my car is out of warranty and they are doing this service as a good will service

But I want them to know that this is a real potential problem and I want the new ingnition cylinder and lock put in not the old P/N one.

No no, lol. I thoguht about stalling it. But I didnt know if I could turn it back on if there was a prob with the ignition. I wanted it on till the tow truck guy got there and then he told me NO dont stall it. He wanted me to drive it up on the flatbed.... of course the ******* car scrapes.... he had to lay boards out and I have no idea if he made sure to do that when he dropped the car off... for all I know I might be getting a new front bumper as well.

Well I got my car back and it runs like a champ again....however.... I found a broke off piece of black plastic that strongly resembles our cheap plastic interior and I am wondering where the **** did it come from? It appears someone broke a tab off of something... a rather large plastic tab and I have no idea where it came from. It was just lying in my seat. I ******* hate taking my car to the dealership.

I ALSO noticed somebody fucked around with my Aeroforce interceptor gauge settings.... This pisses me off cause I had everything set the way I wanted it to cycle and the time intervals between the cycle. Now its all been changed to random useless ****. I dont understand why they had to play with the guage in order to do the power steering recall and the ignition...

This could be a possible reason not to get a GM vehicle again... its bound to need repair work and some ******* is gonna **** with your ****.

I had a highly modified audi that got taken in for repairs. Service tech had taken my car out on a date with it. I found out cus the girl that was riding in the passanger seat left her hair clip attached to the "oh-****" handle and another surprise under the seat.

Could be because they had to disconnect the battery and it reset the gauge.
