Yes 3k is the fogs. It would be the most functional set up too as the yellow cuts through fog the best. And 6k is white with a bit of blue. I wish I had a pic of mine to show you. I went 6k/6k and love it.
And as far as looks I think it would look good, and function awesome.

Technically 4300K is the main OEM color temp. I use 5000K and they're pretty much as white as it gets, with 6000K starting to have a blue tint and 8000K is more blue than white. Of course if you buy cheap kits the colors will probably be off a bit.

id say go 5k fogs, and 6k headlights
or 4.3k. 4.3 still looks a lil dull then 5k.
3k imo is what hondas put on there car...
3k might not look bad, but i would never, its tooo rice. got ruined by all the hondas.....
every now and again i see a nice lexus, or bmw with yellow fogs, and im like damn... those are sexy as ****.

Here is a comparison of Halogen vs 6K in my 3rd gen's. Hope this helps. Pics are in my garage cuz it's freaking cold out in MI right now. I personally like the 6k as they are bright and almost like the sky when the sun is out.
