get 5% window tint and if ur lucky to have the self tinting rear view mirror it's not bad at all. i've been driving in front of james for many many miles on occasion and it didn't bother me a bit lol.

on the other hand i have 5000k headlights and foglights all from ddm tuning. My ballasts on the other hand are from buyhids.com I had a ballast go bad so i swithced it out with a ballast my friend had and that headlight looks the best out of the other 3 bulbs so if i were you i'd go ddmtuning 5000k all around. if you want the 3000k for fogs that'll work but 5k for headlights would be best light output, 6000k would give you the slite tint of blue.

blurple would definately be the word to describe them. they are like 85% blue with a hint of purple bleeding through.

6K starts ricer blue, 8K is VERY ricer blue anything higher is worthless for seeing...

I have 5000K Headlights and 3000K Fogs. The reason i have yellow fogs is because halogen bulbs put off multiple frequencies of light and the HID's have spikes at very few spots, well 5000K has bascially zero yellow light from it and atleast my eye likes to see that... driving in the rain with 5000K-6000K HID's sucks at night...

as for HID's in oem housings... i've only been flashed by 3 people in the past 5years of having HID's. the first time my mustangs were just aimed too high, the last two times were due to the stupid DRL's on the cobalt... i've since pulled the fuse.

typically HID's in the stock housings aren't an issue at all as long as you aim them down at the road where you would want them to be aimed in the first place. I personally like using a Matte black paint on my housings just because i think it gives it a nice clean factory looking finish to the headlights and Matte black is much easier to work with than a gloss, but also painting them like this will also help decrease glare from HID's in stock housings.

I remember those, LOL! PINK FTW!

I have 4.3K's in my fogs and they look awesome. Kind of blue when they warm up but they turn the whitest white you have ever seen when they are warm.

I just switched my headlights and fogs from 6k to 4500k. I'm after more light output now instead of before when I wanted a little blue. There is also a pretty big difference in brightness between the two btw.

that's not exactly a fair example. You're using the wrong camera with the light reflecting off a whiteboard far too close up

here's a good pic for color that I took. Look at the light on the ground. Fogs are 8000k and headlights are 6000k. After having both of those I will never use them again. 5000k is a much nicer, whiter color that creates a lot of contrast and creates about the best light output you can get. 4300k will be a little brighter though, but only by a few hundred lumens.

Mine definitely don't look like that...

Hey guys I have a question of my own here:

I read somewhere that if you want to change your HID temp that you dont need to buy a whole new kit, that you can just change the bulb from 6k to 5k for example. Is that true, does that work?

them 6k's are gorgeous thanx for the pix. if i buy the HID kit now and decide to change the headlights out i need new kit right the connectors are different i assume? i want retrofitted headlights though so i might just do the fogs.

but i do think purple fogs on my yellow sedan may hav some sex appeal wut y'all think?
