GMS1 From CED

I went to my dealer and priced out the GMS1 and they wanted over $700CAD + Labour. On Crate Engine Depot its only $495 USD but they include the plug and play harness and i was curious if anyone knows if the harness' are cover through GM or are they a CED part. Thanks
Cobalt, Solstice, HHR Stage Kit 19212670HK - Crate Engine Depot Or Is there a Trifecta Dealer near Toronto Ontario?

Oh I see, because the guy at the dealer was telling me it wasn't a GM part or he would of had it on his computer. I would rather not have them cut my existing wires and i was also told it would be the first one they have done, should that be a hint to take it elsewhere?

If you want to get a trifecta tune you don't need to be near a dealer. It is all done through computers.

I looked at doing this when I got my car last year. Both dealerships wouldn't install the kit unless it was purchased from them, even with the same part # ($850 for everything). You could see if the dealership will just flash the car for you and get the kit installed elsewhere. $500 from CED, $140 for install at a reputable shop(Quote I got, price will vary) $75 for flash?. If Dealership is close by it could be done, just stay out of boost on the way there, different map sensors. I priced mine out to and would have saved $125 - 175. BUT with installation other than them, they wouldn't honor the warranty that came with it. Might be different at other dealerships?

I've read of a few that were able to go this route or even do it themselves and get just the flash at the dealership.

Simple install for any GM dealer to do. Read the instructions, do the install, flash the ECM. It will cost $900 if you have the dealer order the part and do the install. With the plug and play kit from CED, you can do it yourself. Then have the dealer flash the ECM for $150-200.

The total with tax and labour was $1088, and it will be the first one they have done. I would rather drive a hour and get an experienced dealership instead of being a test project and risk having issues..

Yeah go for that deal. Oh and make sure to get the aftermarket connectors. This kit can be such a bitch with bad wiring and clearance issues.

With the new adapters they have available at CED, there's really no more "install." You just unplug your old MAP/TMAP, uscrew them, remove them, plug in the adapter cables, then screw in your new 3bar MAPs and plug them in. Done. No more soldering or any of that ridiculous limp mode crap.

These probably cost less than the labor that would be charged.

pretty sure your dealership can get GMS1 with the adapter harness for plug and play functionality. my sis works in the parts department and she used the exact part # off the CED website for the kit with the harness and is able to order it. Thats what my dumb sister said anyways lol

If these had of been offered when I had mine installed I would have gladly spent the extra for no cutting !!

Mine is now "hard wired" - meaning they eliminated the crimp connectors altogether & put the oriignal wires into the sensor connectors ala the factory.

5 PSI spazzes = Gone !

My .02.

Oh, my.................look what I got in the mail today. This is one of those things that I'm glad I waited on. If I would have hacked up my wiring harness before these came out, I would have been pist.
