300~350hp?!?

For starters, if I'm pulling a newbie, and making a thread that is as painful (for being repetitive) as listening to someone scratch their nails on a chalkboard;
I sincerely apologize.

Yes, this is another horsepower "feeler" thread.

Second, since this thread is about both the LNF & LSJ, I couldn't see a more appropriate forum in which to place this thread... if any mods/admin want o move this, I won't be offended - just delete this paragraph when you move it please.

I have looked around here for a while, and am plain old impressed with some of the E/T's posted with LSJ Cobalts;
I have also read on several occasions of 300+hp LSJ Cobalts...

Can someone post me links on legit 300+hp builds?

I am presuming that the best ones are based on cars which have the full stage kits, plus some extra tuning/parts... am I close?

What kind of torque gains are to be seen when getting those hp numbers?

here's a post that further spurred me on to make this thread;

I had vowed to eventually own an LNF Cobalt (although the '09 GXP(5spd) hard top does interest me, I like to have room for stuff, and more than one person in my cars, plus then there's the crazy low production numbers for said GXP...) and I have no reason as of yet to recant my public vow...

I have understood that the Stage kit gets LNF Cobalts nearly to the 300hp number, but was wondering what additional mods (to a car with the stage kit) are needed to break 300whp...

I was also wondering:

1) if when all is said & done, if a 300+whp LNF grossly out torques a 300+whp LSJ when attaining these hp numbers.

2) if the LNF would be dramatically more streetable than the LSJ when in this hp realm.

For an LSJ to break 300whp there are a few different ways. Getting a TVS blower and someone to tune you would be the easiest. 300whp should be almost attainable on the stock blower on a 2.6 or 2.7" pulley on the stock blower with E85 and supporting mods (full exhaust and intake, and a good tune), and add a ported head on there and you should hit over 300. Also of course a turbo conversion would get you well over 300.

For an LNF to break 300whp a good tune and exhaust will do it. The LNF will net higher PEAK torque than the LSJ but the LSJ will have a more linear torque band. An LNF with 300whp will likely be around 330wtq and an LSJ with the same HP will have around 270wtq (give or take for both motors depending on the tune.)

Im sure someone else will post up some more info but that should answe some of your questions.
