F23 swap in ss

Basically half way into an F23 swap in my hhr ss. I’m using a 4.17 F23 with a team green lsd insert, automatic ss cv shafts, a Saturn vue jackshaft and a custom intermediate shaft or a set of axles from DSS. I’m ordering a clutch masters street/race clutch, tob, 8 bolt flywheel, pressure plate, using a b&m short throw shifter, new ac delco master and slave, clutch lines, pedals and reservoir. Pictures to come. Hopefully going to have it done within a few months

Good luck. I have a lnf sedan with a f23 swap running around here. I did the swap lol. Hardest was speed sensor but I got it figured it out.

Even with the stock uneven length CV axles torque steer isn't really a problem with properly setup suspension. Personally I would recommend using readily available stock axles and avoid the headache.

Yeah DSS said they could have me a set for $800, that’s what I’d use if I broke a cv shaft. I heard the oriellys axles get noisy after a summer. I’m on Powell yyz v5’s and I’d run drag bags at the track. I already had the parts from my auto tranny so I figured I might as well use them if they’re just going to be wasted or sold anyways

What problems were the speed sensor giving you?

With F23 use new axles from Napa. Around $65 a piece.

What is needed to do the swap? Just blew my trans and thinking of doing this instead of swapping another f35

I believe the trans, axels, mounts. Some also install a limited slip differential in it.

Update

Here’s a little update for you guys. I ended up doing more than I planned on the entire car but I’m happy with how it turned out. I used an LNF F35 tob, clutch pipe, F35 clutch. I kept LNF hubs and knuckles, and I’m currently running unequal length axles. But I plan on running equal length axles shortly using some secret oem parts and a spacer

I ended up going with bc coils and 14k swift springs and every other suspension mod

My slicks and small brakes for when the tracks open up whenever this virus goes away

Had to clearance the base

This shifter feels incredible. Can’t wait to get my American F23 4h tech short shifter arm on, they made a small batch for us not very long ago. I would highly recommend them, just based off what it did for my F35. (You can actually see part of it in this pic, it’s the silver thing in the bottom left)

I got a clutch harness from an LNF part out to wire to my wot box for NLS and launch control

4.17lsd F23

Clutch master bracket I made

I should sell these haha

Long boi

me too. I’ve had my fast one since 2014 and I built a second one to daily drive last year. LHU/3.82lsd/zfr6758/full bolt ons. It’s nothing like the other one but still plenty of fun and about as practical as it gets

My daily when I saved it from going to the scrapyard and a pic of it now

2014 and a pic from before I put it away last fall
