Jesus tap dancing Christ, I managed to get some work done on my car this weekend.
Finished up the Meth install, decided not to be lazy and put the trunk Carpet back in properly.
Finally got the right drill bit so I could tap the girdle for my fitting, ran into an issue now tho.
The horizontal distance between the turbo oil outlet and the fitting in the girdle is too much for the vertical distance between the two. So I can't just use barbed fittings anymore, I'll have to get some 45* JIC fittings and make a hose to span the two.
Not super happy about that...but it is what it is.
Also got my fuel rail all hacked up to route my hoses for the portfueler fuel rail, didn't have enough hose tho so I couldn't finish that up.
Either way, progress is progress.
If I didn't constantly need stupid little parts...this would be going much smoother....LOL

Nice, my first new car when I was 20 was a 2001 cavalier, black on black, 5 speed. Loved that car, I thought it was so fast, lol. Wanted a 2002 ecotec built. It was the first year that the cavalier had the ecotec and still had the 2000-2002 styling. 2003 cavaliers were stupid ugly. I now love my cobalt way more than those cars. The ss is loaded out with power everything, sunroof, and heated seats. Way better than the cavy.

Ya i know, its not exactly the best designed intake manifold in the world.
I'm not too concerned to be perfectly honest tho, this intake manifold came off Hahn's sunfire, car ended up making ~620whp.
Good enough.

Thanks man, the "SLEEPER" plates and the rear diffusers give it away slightly, but thats just part of the charm lol
Probably going to end up running 175 tires on the back and a set of 245 drag radials on the front for the street, so that won't help with the sleeper car vib either, but its all part of the fun.
Either way, I could put a sticker on the back window that says "this car makes 400whp" and people wouldn't believe it anyways....so its all good LOL

Made some more progress last night, 99% positive I got my return line solved, didn't get a chance to finish it last night tho.
Also, bolted on my intake manifold and finished my fuel lines and moved some wiring around in order to fit the charge pipe better (still needs some paint tho).
I think I'm just gonna go with the -4an line I have, me and my buddy looked at it last night, and no way in ******* hell is the inside diameter actually 1/4" (4/16") so **** it. If I have problems I'll deal with it then.
Hoping to get the turbo bolted up tonight with the wastegate and the rest of that stuff, start putting charge piping on, which just leaves vacuum line routing and some wiring to finish up, and the exhaust.
yay!

Haha I'll do my best.
Realized shortly after I ran those fuel lines that they don't conform to the NHRA rules, so those will all have to be re-done. Oh well.
Live and learn.

Well put an order in for my new fuel line stuff.
As it turns out the fuel line I'm currently using "Gates LOL Plus" is actually an NHRA approved line, go figure! However the hose clamps still don't comply.
So I put in an order for some Russel ProClassic hose and fittings, will look a lot better than the red hose and still be legal.
It is against NHRA rules to have the fuels lines routed over the clutch side of a FWD car, I'm gonna do my best but they will still be on that side of the motor, if they give me **** I'll deal with it, but I'm pretty sure no one is gonna notice/care.
Anyways, got the turbo bolted up for good last night, as well as the wastegate/downpipe/screamer pipe and I finally sorted out my turbo drain...yay!
Some pictures;
Turbo stuff behind the motor now.
Screamer Pipe exit. (I moved that wire loom after I took the picture, its for my external crank trigger, don't want that melting)
My slightly ghetto turbo drain, looks like ass, should work just fine tho. (Need to pull my shift cables out of the way as they are currently laying on top)
On the table for tonight is the Exhaust.

Ya, about that, I have no options there, the housing is like 1/2" from the outlet pipe, but offset by about a 1/4", so its pushing against the hose, you can kinda see it in the picture.
That's the best I could do without removing the hose all together.
The heat shielding on there should provide some protection against abrasion, and my motor is basically on solid mounts, so it doesn't move.
So here to hoping for the best!! LOL

Exhaust is coming along...nearly there.
Its made from mostly scraps laying around the shop, so its not the prettiest thing ever, but it will do the trick. The open end is for the cut-out.

Anyways, finished the car off this weekend, just need to reflash my computer and she can hit the streets.
Front end.
Exhaust (even removable )
All done, keeping it clean.
Front.
Can barely see the intercooler
Tail Pipe, nothing fancy, just a slash cut.
