Just a hypothetical...

I've got an 07 LS. If I wanted to build up a 2.4 and swap it in, how easy would it be? Engine and electronic components? or is there more I'm not aware of. I'm not so mechanically inclined and would probably find somebody to do this for me if I decided to do so.

That would be pretty expensive. Your computer would have a fit, because we don't have a tuning solution yet. If I were you, I would stay with the 2.2, research a lot, and then look at building that up in the future. Bottom line: don't jump into anything. Learn as much as you can about the platform, look into all the aftermarket choices, and then try to make a good decision.

Build your 2.2 or get another 2.2. You can actually get a 2.2 engine with better sleeves an build it up pretty nice. Heres a link to the gm build book for the 2.2 check it out.

http://tunersource.gmblogs.com/Racer...L61-Build-Book

It talks about you being able to buy (from gm im guesing) a 2.2 block or whole engine (not sure which) with better sleeves, which is a must for some one who is gonna build big.

Good Luck!

would the computer swap in too with the engine? If a swap is too difficult I'll prob build up another 2.2 and put that in. I'm too impatient to wait for 2.2 tuning.

No, the computer would not swap in with the engine. I don't know too much about what would be involved, but I know that the ECU would not come with the engine. And even if you went with a built 2.2, you would still need tuning. Theres no way around that.

See my above post.......^

Also there are a few guys looking at a company called Jet who is making some form of chip to work with the 2.2 ecu. But it would be a "box tune" so it wouldnt be much help for some one wanting to build a 2.2.......
