Yeah, you can always add a cutout that can be opened when you want to get a little more power out of it. We didn't see much of a power gain by running no exhaust vs. our 3" exhaust on Ryan's car until it was past 550whp. Then it gradually made more power with the open exhaust the higher we went from there.

It's just very hard to fit a cut-out on the kappas. None of the kappas that I saw with a cut-out was able to fit a cut-out near the dp. but we'll see what happens....... I just want the set-up to work first...then fine-tune it later :) |

035 wall tubing? god the last time I welded with only 35 amps... wait I dont think I ever have. Last few welds I've done I've just had recommended amperage between 300 and 500 and just turned the knob till it stopped at 300.

What would basically happen in that case is it would be the equivalent of a larger turbo, but retain the quick spool too. That's why some V6 and V8 cars opt for twin turbos over a large single. The downside is the cost and complexity.
In an LNF, you'll end up having ONLY having 2 cylinders supplying exhaust gasses per turbo....which I think will NOT retain the quick spool that an ordinary LNF w/ only one turbo..... |

Or also add a couple of quick spool valve? :) My head started aching thinking about having twin turbos on an LNF.....lol |

that's why I was planning to have the big turbo installed remotely before............but I ended up chosing to have the two turbos inside the engine bay. Way more impressive to look at :) Plus I think more effective..... |
Im gonna run 2 k04's on my ss when I get it back just because I have the extra turbo and its one more custom trick to do with the car lol. only thing im debating is do I have one feed the other or do i have a Y into the charge piping to combine them?

You wouldn't want to run them in series either. The idea behind compound turbo setups is to use a small turbo for quick response at lower RPMs, and the resulting increase in power output is what allows a larger turbo to spool even though you have a small displacement engine. |

Yeah, cars like the Supra and RX7 used sequential. The 300ZX and I think 3000GT VR4 both used parallel.
