either get the new turbo cobalt and wait a little bit for the aftermarket to catch up, or get a gently used SS/SC and do a blower swap.

So... does my car just not count? I haven't hit 11's, but with slicks it shouldn't be a problem.

no...he doesn't want to spend gobs of money

You can get into the 12's...its not simple, but it can be done without breaking into the motor or using nos. It'll be simpler if you open the exhaust ports on the head.
Lets see...
60# injectors
2.7 or smaller pulley
air box mod or cai
full exhaust
poly tranny mounts
cooling mods (dual pass and an extra h/e)
a set of slicks
a lot of track time

can't forget tuning...

Without nitrous? That's what I meant as the OP was saying without nitrous.....

And if you're gonna run 11's without nitrous then damn you got a sweet car and post up some vids

No. If you can do the work yourself it would be cheaper but for the money you would spend to make the lsj that fast, you'd better off just buying a turbocharged car and throwing in a bigger turbo. I'm thinking srt-4...b...b...b...bad ass.

Isn't there some torque limiter in the tc? I'm too lazy to search.

its doable...
there are a people who are in low 13s with just cooling mods and track time... with a few bolt on mods and a good tune you could be in the 12's no problem.
then do some internal stuff, make a new intake manifold and port the heads and you could see 11's
do alot of the work yourself and look for some good deals and you could do it pretty cheap
