Methanol problem/question

I have the throttle body spacer tapped for meth, when my car is at idle it's still sucking in meth. The AFR is at 10.0 but when we pull the line at idle it's at 13-15....anyone know what could be wrong...we have the meth running off of boost kicking in at 9psi...

Armyguy151 08-07-2010 11:40 AM

bump really no one has any idea?

MP Cobalt 08-07-2010 11:43 AM

did you do all the wiring correct? how long has it been in the car and what brand?

Armyguy151 08-07-2010 11:59 AM

Yes the pump doesn't kick on, until 9 psi. i think it's just sucking the access thats in the line...just installed it lastnight and its a snow performance progressive

did you purchase the optional solenoid? I have the aem kit it comes with a check valve to prevent seapage. The snow kit looks like there is no checkvalve in it so you would need to by the solenoid separate and I'd suggest you disconect the meth until you get it. I'm in the process of having Vince tune mine too bad he's on vacation for a week..... I've got my start psi at 5 and full at 20psi you being an sc I can't really help you there!

yeah the wiring. and you need a check valve at least. go over everything you have done.

Armyguy151 08-07-2010 12:24 PM

ok thanks, i will go buy a check valve...

The check valve in my kit was defective as was another local guy's. Bought an inline brass one from some vendor and never had a problem after that. I plumbed mine in right before the nozzle.

so you cut the line say about 5 inches from the inlet and just connected a check valve? where can i buy one at

MP Cobalt 08-07-2010 02:11 PM

just place the check valve close to the nozzle. I have mine directly into my 90 degree nozzle holder

Armyguy151 08-07-2010 03:24 PM

Yea Most all cars need a solenoid or a check valve to keep from having issues. Once you get one it will solve your issues.
