So today i put it up on ramps to change the oil

no biggie

last night i was tuning it drove it and brought it home

now today after i put it back on the ground it starts fine but my hptuners wont connect

i unplugged battery for 10 min still didnt work

tried half hour didnt work

now the dam engine locked me out and i have to do the security relearn

anyone ever ad issue with hp tuners not connecting saying needs key in run position and it is but wont work?

 

Yeah that happened to me the first time I used it... but I did get it to work on a full reflash I "forced" it through and all was well..
found out I accidently changed my vin number...
but you shouldn't have to do a VATs relearn on the car... unless you erased your PCM somehow

 

it wont connect at all....

im trying to do the security realrn now and its not working

 

ok so the battery died, hooked up a battery charger to it, and BAM no more engine disabled...

wtf i know how its supposed to work and this is far from it, i hate computers

 

Have you tried talking to her sweetly yet? I mean at this point it couldn't hurt right? I hope you get it worked out man.

Same thing happened to my car the first time man.... your voltage was probably too low and you had a failed write... that woulda f'd it up some...

well tunerz still doesnt work....

i found my oil leak dam camposition sensor was coming out

so i got that fixed and now my car will start once then i have to d/c the battery and r/c it then it starts again............

no i didnt talk nice to her i actually have been cussing the yellow **** all day

 

im ordering a pizza since i had to call off work BAH dam cars

 

Told ya man.... the yellow cobalts are cursed

 

Dont worry man, once all this tuning is over, and you have the car running good, it will all be worth it.

We had something like this happen on a 04 Redline ION. (Max_boost)'s car.

Maybe this might be a simple fix.

We had no power via the OBD port. We blew the 15amp fuse for the BCM. This caused no power at the OBD port and gave us the same results... Can't connect...bla..bla..bla...

Check for power to the HPtuner cable itself via the OBD port. If you plug the cable into the OBD port and the cable has power(green light turns on) without being hooked up to the usb port on your laptop your issue is elsewhere and not what we encountered.

thanks, that might be it, i just checked all the fused and about half of them were like 1/2 the way in WTF

this car is full of suprises

 

When I first plugged HPT into my car I burnt out my cigarette lighter fuse. It's a 15A I think......also under the hood. Try that man

fuses are ok, but did you check to see if the cable powers up with it just being plugged into the obd2 port and not connected to the laptop????

If it does power up, then it's ecm related and you have a calibration recovery fail problem...software, or Hptuner cable related problem.

If there is no power to the cable, not then you have a circuit somewhere that is blown and possibly not just a simple fuse.

 

with just ob2 cable box has green light

so im assuming its an ecu or tuners box issue?

The car will only start one time then you have to unhook battery and rehook it to get it to start again

 

what can i do to fix it blah i emailed support for hptuners

 

Yup, unfortunately your out of luck Maybe try reloading the software or updating to the 2.14 release beta, but if you can't connect it seems like it might be a ecu/ tuners box issue. Anyways, hope they can help you.
