Oh my, look at how big you are...
it's flowing a lot more air than the m62
Wouldn't want to crack a sleeve
Oh yeah I see what your saying. Yes with the increase in timing of course comes the increase in cylinder pressure. You start playing russain roullette with the sleeves when you add the boost and timing lol
but you should ask hungryciphippo in this thread what happened to his stock sleeves when he cranked the boost and timing up
These motors hold together fairly well as long as they have head studs and a good tune.
My engine blew because i was simply rushing my tune. You see the first time i put pistons in my car and studded it i never re-trq the head studs after 500 miles.
Then me and shaun tuned for 22.5psi and 16* timing. Well i pushed water past the HG and ended up pulling the head and replacing the gasket.
Well after all that i wanted to take it easy for awhile so i went out to re-tune my car for WG spring which was 12psi.
So I go out and im logging some 3rd gear pulls on 12psi and not looking at the screen did 2 pulls and was finishing up my third pull when @ 7000rpm BOOM! and i felt a miss in the eng so i shut down.
Tow the car pull the head and find cracked sleeve on #4.
Reveiw the log and aaaaaaa what do ya know... my maf was scaled back for the higher boost i normally ran (18-22) and when i was on 12psi the timing had gone into the lower g/cyl range and the timing was hitting 28-29*
so it just goes to show 1 simple mistake is all it takes to ruin a motor. Keep the tune solid and clean up the maf often and the car should hold 400whp on the stock sleeves.

ahhh good to know chris
we dont go from 22 psi to 12 psi at a click or a button or knob... so thats what shaun meant by the maf having to be PERFECT for turbo'd cars
ill do my best!

Well ya its gotta be cleaned up more often then a s/c car and when the maf is off a little the drivability suffers. where as i dont notice that with the m62. I can run the same tune all yr (if i wanted) turbo car i had to tune for every season/weather change.
pretty much
btw you never called back!
you have to chase after your dogs?
ill see what i can do about getting you one these blowers. im sure jr wouldn't mind making a plate now that he's done it a few times w/ the mill.
wait until i go back to the same dyno I recently dynoed the m62 2.7 setup on for a direct comparisson.

good to know
ill go and dyno the setup on the 3" pulley im getting soon for 23 psi
see if its worth your while, so far so good tho even @ 20 psi
then we can see bout getting you one of these and a plate made for you
