First off I hope this is in the right section. I wanted to put it here because I hope to get a little deeper answers then what I would in the 2.0 section. Secondly I would like to say I'm not planning on doing this to my car at this point, but I'm just curious about it, and as you will see I don't know enough about meth injection yet to even consider this at this point.

I was in a discussion early today with NJHK about meth injection on cars and I think I raised far more questions then I could answer figure out myself and Adamn did the best he could. I decided to pose my questions here to get a discussion going.

My main concerns on this subject is with tuning, and reliability. I think I understand how it works, but I will recap so that if I am wrong someone can correct me.

The meth is sprayed into the intake and as it enters the engine it is evaporated because of heat, the process of evaporation cools the air in the chamber thus cooling the engine. I think that's how it works, but I'm not sure.

My main concern with this is how does this affect what's going on in the engine? How is AFR affected? How about flame front speed? Also could this disrupt the flame front by causing an ununiform burn? Or does the methanol mix with the fuel and air to help combustion? When you use meth do you have to tune for it because of the factors I listed above? Finally how does meth affect reliability? I know dragsters use it but most of us aren't driving dragsters and many of us drive our cars daily so how does this effect the components of the engine over time?
