alright sorry, well the way i see it is that it would be way to complicated to swap the engine into your balt, it may sound as easy at a motor swap but then u need to swap ECU's all the wiring harness have it all programmed and blah honestly its probably not worth the time or money to do it and have it work correctly

I saw one for sale where a guy did this, he bought a totaled SS and swapped everything over. Seats, motor, trans suspension, extrior lip parts. Seems like a waste when you can build up a sleeper turbo car.

Buy it for $1800, sell your base. Use money from getting rid of your base cobalt to do the body work and fix the SS.
/End Thread.
Otherwise it pretty much requires stripping your car and the SS and putting all the SS stuff in your shell. Then you are left with WTF to do with an entire cars worth of base model cobalt parts kicking around and the shell of an SS car.

here's my take on it. swap in an eaton supercharger kit, get a tune, slap on the ss bumpers, rims, etc.
might cost somewhere around 2-3k, idk.
but of course then u still got base model seats, probly grey carpets and uppholstery, u need the boost gauge, ss gauges, subwoofer,
and then theres the fe5 suspension, i think the brakes stay the same..

From what I have read the 2.2L L61 motor is a tough motor, I think the rods and pistons were good to 250ish in the L61 block. I think the 2.2L motor is a boss and I cant wait to build mine but I have a 240sx that needs building first! back to the point I say supercharge your 2.2L if your looking for mild power because that's what I plan on doing down the road.
