Exclamation 06 Cobalt SS Tire Size

I have a set of 205/50R17 tires on my 2006 Cobalt SS right now. Can I put a set of 215/45R17’s on this car? Family member wants to trade me a newer set of tires from a Buick they are selling.

I would think that would work. Check tire rack's site and see what it says.

They'll fit. You'll lose a bit of sidewall and gain some width, but 215/45 is a good match to the factory 17x7's.

Thanks for the responses. Tirerack.com says to use 17” 205/50, with the optional sizes being 18” 215/40 and 19” 215/35. I am worried they aren’t compatible.

Those are larger wheel diameter options. Use their tire size calculator to compare the sizes and then make a judgement call.
