hey if he wants the high rise let him enjoy it

personally I admire the wingless trunk myself but the wing adds a unique touch to an LS that not a lot of people have.

on another note the eibachs are really nice and they cost $239.00 on TTR (Eibach Sportline Lowering Springs Chevy Cobalt Pontiac G5 2005-10 - Suspension - Turbo Tech Racing, LLC) and you can even get a nice little discount if you talk to them here on the forums and put their banner in your signature which is flippin' awesome

I recommend the sportlines over the pro plus kit btw, it's a lower drop. I have them on my car and it improved the handling by a lot.

Hey bro welcome to the site!!!
Personally I would lower it and if you do lower it just save your money and buy coilovers. Coilovers have the whole shock/strut assembly everything you need to lower your car and they are adjustable. So for the summer you can slam it if you like and in winter raise it up a little so you dont scrape on the snow and ice. They are way more expensive but worth it in the long run. If you buy springs then you will just have to buy new struts and stuff down the road anyways. Save up and do it right the first time. I personally have made posts about springs and people definately convinced me to save my money for coilovers, im in the process of saving right now! And about the trunk if you like the wing, then do it. Dont listen to what others say about it, it is your car and if you like it thats all that matters.

Thanks man. How easy are the coilovers to install yourself?

Wow coilovers r expensive!!!!

So if i just get the lowering springs they will put too much pressure on the stock struts and it isnt even worth it or what?

Also, what do you guys think would be a cheaper way to get good sounding exhaust then buying a whole kit?

Ive got a maxspeed muffler 2.5 incher not hooked up yet. Just wondering what else would make the exhaust sound nice?

Since your a 2.2 ecotec just a muffler is going to give you no gains at all because the rest of your exhaust is 1.78 inches in size. You need a full 2.5 inch or 2.25 mandrel bent exhaust. If you go to a exhaust shop your going to get crush bent piping which is no good. Heres a few exhausts I suggest you look at.

05-10 CHEVY COBALT EXHAUST - BOLT ON - (ALUMINIZED - 2.5 IN)

05 06 07 CHEVY COBALT CATBACK EXHAUST MUFFLER 2DR 4DR - eBay (item 140483236670 end time Jan-25-11 19:03:08 PST)

So I would have to get a exhaust system put on for decent sound? Or just the correct pipes to go with my muffler?

I was only joking my friend.. You may scrape on an occasional speed bump, but you should be fine.

cobalt italiano..dont put a high rise on...if its wingless leave it wingless...it may look kinda gay now but when you get some stuff done to it it will look good. id def invest in coilovers, there adjustable and even though they are expensive for our cars (my buddy got a set for his m3 for 300 bucks new...and they are good) they are worth it. Youve got rims so there ya go....lower it, tint the windows....i know you said 20..i have 15 and wish id gotten 5.lol but do what ya want, then get a full exhaust, intake, header. the whole nine yards. Maybe do a intiroir swap? ss seats and black it all out..or suede? man theres alot of ideas on here just do some searching in the how to section and apperence section and youll find all kinds of stuff people have done. are you wanting to be fast? or look good?

I personally am making my cobalt look better for a dd...then plan on getting another car to tinker with in the next couple of months.
