ok so right now i have 10k...i have an opportunity to pick up some 12k also...if anybody has 12k hids please post up a pic i wanna see exactally what they would look like on cobalts...im not to sure of the shade and color...

My friend has a WRX with 10K's and you may as well have just your fog lights on. I can only imagine 12K

 

12K's are the purple ones, they are really only for show.

Yea 12k is not going to be any better than the stock light output in my opinion. I think 10k is pushing it though. I personally would never go above 6k. To me light is not about looking cool, it is about letting you see.

i hate when people give un-smart (lol) opinions... its not going to be better then stock light output? you serious?? regardless what color, HID's are going to be brighter then halogen.... i have 12k and they are about ~3 times more bright. obviously ill catch hate saying im blinding people and all this other bullshit about needing projectors... i know all about it... my lights are aimed correctly and provide a BIG difference over stock. Cant wait to get some in my fogs.

Yea so if I go get 30k HID's they are going to put out better light than the stockers right? The hids might "look" brighter but they are not letting you see the road any better. 12k might be better than the stockers but there is not a big enough difference, I wouldnt spend my money on them. In MY opinion, anything over 6k is just a waste.

Also, compared to the picture posted above (post 8), my stock lights do a better job of lighting the road, no doubt about it.

 

great way to exagerate(sp?)... they dont make higher then 12k. and how are you goinjg to tell me they arent brighter? im the one who has both.

i agree with u if u are going strickly for light output then 6k... but its more looks + light for me... dont really need super duper bright lights in the city

 

Trust me, they make higher than 12k. They make Green, Pink, Purple HID kits, from 15k all the way up tp 30k.

I have rode in a car with 12k hids, and I could not see ****. Maybe you have a great quality kit, or they called it 12k when it was really only 8k. My experience with HIDs is that anything over 6k isnt worth the money. If you like yours thats super, I was just giving this guy my opinion.

mine are loads brighter than the pics shows, the pic capured the strong light..trust me i was able to see the puple at the stop sign at the end of that street...and when ur on the highway u light up the boards a pretty good distance back, honestly even if they were a high output kit...they made way more than stock, but yes white and blue will make a brigther light, i personally wont tocuh blue, waaaaay to common

ebay has alot fo kits u can pick, and they let u pick \your color when you buy it, in the message you have to include what temp you want, or just say the color, or i think the default is blue or something, idk, ut the lower the temp, the brighter it will be, the hgher the tmp the prettier it will be
