35% tint + 15% = ???

i already have 35 on the front windows and the person whos tinting my windows wants to charge 60 to take the tints off and 70 for the new tints. so id rather just put another layer of 15 on it and save 60, does anyone know what percent this would end up being?

thanks

yeah, putting another layer of film will be dark as hell. I'd keep the 35% on front, does not look that bad. Also I dunno if the film will stick to the other film. I was charged $100 to replace my damged front tints

It will stick...but i guarantee they wont warrenty it..

and yea with 35% tint about 35% of the light passes through...
so then you put 15% on top of that...its now allowing only 15% of that 35% of the light through

Have fun seeing out of it at night...

I have 15% on now and its hard to see out of them at night when making turns and such

i have 5's on the back already just 35 up front to stay legal, and its wayyyy to easy to see in to.

and i didnt really want 5s on the front, cause that begging to get pulled over, so ill prob just do 2 35's so it will be 12.25 which isnt so bad

edit: believe me i want to take it off my self if i could, but i dont want to mess with all the chemicals and what not and it seems kinda confusing from what ive heard (bags everywhere, the ammonia cant touch anything blah blah blah)

editx2: someone said something about the type of tint, and all i know is that it was a carbon tint, not sure of who the mfg is.

Say what? Its so simple. I dont know why you are making it into a huge deal.
Get one corner loose and just pull the tint off.
Then take a razor blade and use some window cleaner to scrape the adhesive off.
It doesnt get much easier than that. If you cant handle that then you shouldn't even think about modding a car.

i read everywhere that theres 2 layres and the top one comes off easy but the 2nd one is a huge bitch unless you do it with ammonia (makes both layers peel off at same time)

no there should only be one layer there.. and windex and a razor blade will get all the sticky **** left behind after you pull the tint.

There should only be one layer UNLESS someone else has doubled it up like how you want to do.
Doubling up tint is stupid.

Yeah have fun getting that tint all the way off and cleaning that window. It's not as easy as peeling a corner and it comes off...especially if it was professionally done. Why do you think he is charging so much to take it off? Not because it takes 2 seconds...because its a pain in the ass.

Why do they charge so much... because people don't realize how easy it is and they get an extra 50+ bucks... its business. Why did businesses quote me 300+ just to install springs on my old car when it took my almost no time with no problems?

It isn't that hard to take off the old residue, like I said the only thing to worry about is the rear windshield because of the defroster.

edit: and yeah it may not take just a couple seconds... but I like to save my money

dont bother buying the spray. all you need is a bottle of windex and a razor blade. make sure its windex with ammonia. the ammonia eats the glue off.
