3M clear bra

DOes anyone have a 3M clear bra on their car? I want to get one on my hood/front bumper when i repaint the front end for stone chips. If you do, roughly how much did it run you?

It's nearly invisible, and it looks a lot less horrible than the white speckled from end of my car from my 70 miles per day of expressway commute.

QFT!

Couple of my coworkers have it on their suv's, no idea on cost but you can't tell it is on there from 5 feet away. Got to be cheaper than respraying the front every other year

Sorry forgot to mention that. I'm the second owner, and I think the guy had the dealer put it on when he bought it so I'm not sure... but I think it was $400ish.

I have it on my car as well. I have the nose (front fascia, front of hood, front of fenders) the fronts of all four fenders, the rocker panels, the A-pillers, the mirrors, behind the rear wheels, and on the trunk (where i grab to open and close). Oh yea, also in between the spokes on my stock rims where i painted as well.
All in all, i believe it cost $800. And the best part is, you can't even tell its there!

LOL this is the most hilarious post i've seen in a long time!!

Ok, you get the front bumper/fascia, rockers, mirrors, A-pillers repainted and tell me how much it costs you!! Then we'll see who's laughing!!

Btw, life span is apx 8-15 years.

We had it on our Impala for over 70,000 miles and 5 years. I wish I had it put on my G5 when it was new.

Fading? How would you quantify fading on something that is entirely transparent and colorless?

The only thing you have to remember is to keep your clay bar and other polishes/rubbing compounds off of it. Otherwise you'll get swirl marks in it.

Fading probably wasn't the right word... I believe he was going more for discoloration such as yellowing.

That makes sense.

I never noticed any yellowing or any other sort of discoloration. When I crashed the car, the clear bra still looked as good as it did when I bought it!
