3rd Gen Headlight issue

I just got my 3rd gen headlights last week. I went to install them and realized there is an issue, its pretty weird.

I currently have 2nd gen headlights on my car, but they have been shorting out my drivers side blinker and I end up replacing it every 2 weeks or so. So i invested into some newer projectors....

The only issue I have right now is this:
There is a blue clip that is supposed to connect the headlight to the car via a wiring harness....I dont have a blue clip on my harness. Just a black one that isn't even the same shape. Im confused, considering my 2nd gen headlights fit and connect just fine. Did I order the wrong cobalt headlights?

theres only one type of headlights for all years of the cobalts. Is it just the retaining clip that doesnt fit or the whole plug that doesnt fit?

like, the entire plug wont fit. I have a square connector and the clip on the lights are a completely different connection. I'll try to find a picture of what I'm talking about
Its so frustrating. Im thinking about just sending them back

It's been a while since i put in my gen 3's but if memory serves me correctly that half moon connector is what plugs into the bulb on you're stock headlight. It plugs into that blue connector on you're Gen3 headlights. Then you have the square connector that plugs into the main wiring harness

Eric,

If you are interested we refurbish those with all new long life LEDs, which should solve your issue.

PM Mkulrey13 if you're interested.

/\ The plug on the left is correct, it would plug right into an SS. Either the LT's are different, or someone rewired your harness in the past.

Just had my 3rd gens put in my SS (I think the style cobalt doesn't matter though). What had to be done was this; clip was taken off the stocks with the wires, plug in to blue clip on the projectors, plug stock clip back in.

I installed the 3rd gen projectors with no issues. It's been a while PM me if you haven't figured it out. I've got nothing else to do tomorrow so I'll see if I can help.

your harness is fine. Look at the pic of the headlight harness directly above this. You see that plug on the top left? That's where you need to plug the plug with the blue rubber seal in.

Everything you need comes from the stock lights: The turn signal bulb, another small bulb (admittedly i don't know what it's for), and the male blue plug which are all connected to the female rectangular plug.

The blue male plug plugs into the female plug that comes with the projectors, the other two bulbs screw into their respective slots.

Oh and just a heads up, I don't know if I got bad quality by purchasing from ebay, but my lights are splitting and peeling after less than a year of use.

I'll be putting the stocks back on soon
