has anyone tryed this or interested in it. I am looking into buying to tradeing someone for a set of 4 door tail lights and a rear bumper off a 4 door. whats you guys think...

Not sure why you'd want to do it but I am sure it can be done with the proper amount of money

those tail lights will look stupid on the coupe and I was still wondering why the hell they put them on the sedan in the first place. Trade in your SS and buy a 06' pursuit GT coupe. They already have those fugly tail lights.

If your gonna put the coupe rear lights on, might as well do the others too, cause that dont look right at. You've got 4 rev. lights.

 

The conversion won't work correctly for one simple reason, your rear valance will NOT fit a non-ss bumper without some working being done to it. If you were to remove your valance you would see why...the bumper is notched out and the valance has tabs on it which slide into those notches, here's a pic of what I mean:

I guess it could be done if you want to take a chance and notch the bumper out yourself but I look at it as being more work that it's worth...that and if you screw it up you're back to ordering another bumper .

But I agree about the reverse lights. I'd switch the coupe inners to be like the outter lights....so they're all red and then just have the reverse lights in the sedan tails....if that makes any sense lmao

 

It would look good if you got rid of the coupe lights completely... IDK why everyone hates the sedan lights soo much they are nice

dude, NO! why u want to wreck that? that be like taking a corvette and putting cavalier rear tail lights on it!!!

 

Do what you like, that one in the link doesn't look too bad, and afterall, why not be a lil different, the style looks somewhat similar to the lex gs400.

 

you guys have to be kidding the rear end on the sedan is way better then the coupe lights, thats why i bought the 4 door and for the insurance reasons. the coupes seem to sit higher in the rear. i work at the gm dealership and i've been it every damn chevy there is and i really do like the cobalts and the corvette's and silverado ss, avalanche is kinda ugly there weird body kits and shyt. but anyways im a new member i just got a lil offended with people hating the 4 door tail lights, imo there alot nicer but i also niteshaded them and did my third brake light, and debadged everything. cant wait to see people thoughts, will have pictures soon. i also have the base model so i dont care, ive had about 15 cars already within 2 and a half years so im cool with it. only problem ive had was having to hardwire into the radio harness, because no store carries the right one, and a green wire kept messing up my gauges but its all fixed now. anyways im glad to join really would like to get to know all of you and perhaps have some cobalt meets soon, well talk to you all soon...

i lvoe my sedan lights.......i really dont like the rear end's of the LS Coupes, looks good on teh SS tho

I got no problem with the sedan lights. But if you're going to put sedan lights on the coupe and keep the trunk lights I think that looks horrible. If you want sedan lights on the couple, then just have the sedan lights.

 

 

I got a problem with the sedan taillights, they look almsot EXACTLY like the Toyota Celica lights! I own a sedan btw

 

This redick, Why waste the time and money to do something like this? I mean leave it the way it is. I hope whoever does this gets rearend the next day so they can try and do it again to be cool. yay

I see i have some likes and dislikes...but thats ok i am ordering my new taillights and 4dr rear bumper next weekend.(9/9/05) and then when ever it gets here i will install and post pics.
