55W vs. 35W HID's

I'm wondering if anyone on here can help me compare both. I hear the 55W washes color out
so a 55W 8000k looks like a 6000k and so on...

I would like to run ~5000k, so I think the 55W may be too bright

This may be a bad angle, but I'm running 6000K 35W in my lowbeams and foglights, and it's bright as hell at night as it is. I personally don't see a need to go with 55W.

I forgot to mention this
I have had 35W kits with 8000k and 6000k
so i'm looking more for a comparison between 35W and 55W

Thanks for the info so far, though.

no but I know they are pure blue. (light blue)

35w and 55w just give off different light output. I think that is the only real differents.

I have 55s in projectors and my god are they wonderfully bright. They are very nice for dodging deer here in the midwest at night. I can't compare them to 35s because I've never had them but I'm very satisfied with them.

actually there is
on my new car, if you run 35W the car sends a message of bulb failure
if you run a 55W kit, you get no message
there are piggy back harnesses you can buy to trick the car, but that makes them more expensive than a 55W kit

and i'm posting this question here because the online community is not as strong as cobaltss.net
i figured someone here would have used 55W HID by now

This was your question, so I gave my opinionated answer.

There is no need for 55 watt. 35 should be bright enough to where you get the color you want also.
