6k retros, 5k fogs for reference (two different brands; they basically match).. idk if this helps but my friend has 8k retros in his stratus and they are basically a hint of blue.. it all depends on the company

Well if you're going from stockers with HID's to properly done retros... there could be a friggin penlight in the retros and you're going to get a better and less irritating light output. So I'd just pull the trigg on those retros.

On my retros i went with 6k, because it looks white and the same color as an OEM HID. Personally 8k is too blue and looks after market. Also, the higher you go up the kelvin rating, the less light output.

No, OEM hids are all 4300k. Anywhere between 4300k and 5000k are the brightest, with 5000k being pure white. This is what I am going with in my TL projector retros winter project. I have 6000k retros currently, and 8000k fogs, hopefully this helps a lil

You can see how much brighter and whiter 6000k is compared to 8000k by looking at the beam on the ground. It's not really the color of looking at the projector that's going to change as drastically as the color of the light hitting the ground and the brightness.

those look brighter than most 6k but could be cause of the fogs also. and i think 8k will be to blue but i got a good deal handed to me so i had to attempt it.

Interesting that 4300k is still pure white... seems like 5000k is the sweet spot then. Depends on brand/ballast too I guess.

On ALL OEM applications, 4300k is used.

It's the lense itself that gives the "blue" look that everyone without a projector lense desires.
