8000k vs. 10000k (HID)

i know ive seen the pictures but i dont think pictures give the best perspective

so what im getting to is i want lights to where when u are heading towards me they are blue and when i get close about to pass they are still blue


so iis that 8k or 10k?

ok good cuz i passed a bmw today and it was blue from far away then it turned white..i was like thats stupid

10k is very blue, and you will not really gain any visability over stock, so it will mostly be show.

Just remember, if you buy them & dont like them you can buy different temp. bulbs for ~$45

well visability is fine right now for me..i just need to aim them better

and does 100k have a purple tint to it all?

10 has some purple..... ive had 10000K 8000k and 6000K........... IMO 8000K is the bluest ..... and the nicest

8k is most definately the nicest and most blue.
10k is blue, but futher towards the purple end of the spectrum

i don't think bmw owners bought their car for the 'cool' looking blue effect. truth is, you will never see as good at night as they do unless you retro fit projects on your cobalt. what are you planning on putting this HID kit in anyway? stock housing or projector? if stock housing, then you will not get that cool blue effect. you'll just get people flashing their highs at you cuz you're blinding them on the road.

stock hid's are usually like 4300 or something like that.

and the reason why it went from blue to white, is because his are projected like they should be, and you were seeing the different parts of the spectrum.

My 10K look like they are a white sometimes, i want a dark dark blue, like no joke BLUE!! but mine are like a crystal blue

yeah you also need to be aware that the projector/cutoff shield will also change that regardless of what color temp you have.
the beamers all usually have 4300
but they still have the blue because of the refraction over the cutoff shield.

It all depends on what angle you're looking at the light from.

extreme blue, and they are insane, they are the bluest you will get, and i got friends with them, my two friend's chris and chris, ones got a Nissan Maxima with 20K's in headlights and fogs, same with the otehr chris has an Avalanche, headlights and fogs, and then my friend Jessica, in her Scion xA got 20K's
