Question "Aiming" retrofits, easiest way to do it?

I attempted to aim my HID's in my retros and they still are un even in the lighting and it bothers me. I tried only once buy removing the whole light from the bolts and then put it back in a different way if you will and still same thing. Do you just move the bulb? What's the easiest way to do so?

What retros do you have? You should be able to use the stock aiming screw on the top.

There should be a small either phillips or alan screw on top of the housing. Post up a top down pic of the housing, I'll circle it for you. They adjust the same way as stock. Unless you are talking about rotational aiming, aka one projector is "crooked"

no its just the lighting itself. I will go outside and take a pic of the top right now. There is a crooked line if you will when I am driving at night. drives me nuts lol

Ya that screw. It will only give you up and down adjustment tho, not left/right or rotational.

yeah I need to just aim it up more with the passenger side. It's funny how I never saw that and I sware it wasn't there until people tell you it is

also too, one more question! You guys are so helpful on this site. Do I aim them more down on the road or somewhat "ahead" of me. Don't wanna blind people. IDK if I should aim my passenger side down, or my driver side up. I will get some night shots tonight to show ya'll

I wait until dark, park 60 or 70 feet from a wall someplace and then aim them. That way you can really see what you're doing. You don't want them so low that they do nothing for you, but at the same time you don't want them up in someone's face. Using a wall makes it really clear where you are.

Head lights should drop about an inch per 10 feet. If you're 50 feet back then, they should hit the wall 5 inches below the height of your headlights. That's of course provided that the place you're parked is nice and level.

The nice thing about using a building made of cinder blocks is that there is a nice level horizontal line every 12 inches form each other.

I work at a mall, so There should be plenty of buildings for me to aim something at. Thanks for the tips.

move your invertor box for the halos away from the headlight area. because if any water gets near the connector or box it could short the halo.
happend to me. i simply moved the box out of the way and havent had any problems

Still looks too low to me. I always aim mine up a bit more than that. In that pic mine would probably reach to the spot where the street is lit up.

Okay, then they were extremely low lol. A first I thought retros were not worth the price tag, just had em aimed wrong I will go out again and adjust. It was only sun set and now its fully dark

The brightest area of light is in the lowest spot in the pic. I'm with Tommy. Up more.

Okay , adjusted again and much much better, I took the advice , parked in the same spot and moved em up towards the other light. Drove around and you can still somewhat see a difference on the pic I uploaded on the bottom of the house, right side seems just a hair above the left.

That looks a lot better... Picture where you took the first one (down the road) would be nice for comparison.
