So.. i got my rear bumper run into tonight after work.. no note left or anything.. damn people, and its cracked.. pretty bad. I know I got to replace the whole thing..

Anyone know what the costs are on a rear bumper and to get them painted???

its for an SS/SC.. I know its a 2 piece cause the bottom skirt has to attach to the huge part of the bumper..
So pissed...

 

Why not report it to insurance? Unless it was your fault...

I had that happen to me except my front bumper..... And I have the laser blue color, from what I have heard the most expensive color they have... and it was only 250 ish, to repaint my front bumper, and realign it!

 

If you both parts of the rear bumper need to be replaced, then the cost to replace and paint them is $1031.66 I manage a paint and body shop in Texas. It might be a little more or a little less in your depending on what the labor rates are. I can give you the part numbers and prices if you want them.

That is a actually a really good price for that work.

 

If you have parking lot cameras, ask if you can see the security tape. A lot of places are cool with that. If it's an employee you can see if you recognize the car, or otherwise you might get a plate off of it and turn them in for hit and run.

 

Parking lot cameras won't be of use because they are on private property. Tapes are only released in the event of a felony or for internal affairs.

 

Man, that sucks. That happened to me the first week I owned my car! They left four screw dents in my bumper. Fortunately, my car is black, so you don't see it unless I clean it up real nice or you get really close. Good luck with that. If you have a $1000 deductable then there's no point in claiming it and risking a premium increase.

actually i would find out the price then call the insurance because i neglected to report and hit and run on my mitsubishi 3000gt driver side mirror that was worth $58. and i had $100 dedctuble and i said why bother i won't report it and i guess somehow i get a call about 5 months down the road saying that i didn't report this accident and they are gonna take me off my policy unless i tell the the reason why i didn't do it. lol and then it got all messed up from there. so now im from State Farm to Gieco since they took me off. apparently the person who hit my car turned him/her self into their insurnance and they got my plates and contaced me and yea all crap.
