Armrest Mod!!!!

Finally got a damn armrest for my car! It was one of the few things that aggravated me about this car, the not having one. So I've been searching around off an on looking for a good deal and today I found one. Got the whole armrest, rear cup holder, mounting block, and bolts for $45!!

Best damn mod I've done to the car so far!

Got it out of a fairly local salvage yard! Ebay was like $100 for the parts.

I've already got the blower, headunit, rims, etc. This beats them all! I'll just have to get used to putting it up if there's a lady in the car.

I honestly thought about picking them both up and selling the second one, but I figured I'd not be a dick. Haha

The other one is in a little nicer shape than the one I got, but this one was a little easier to get to so I just decided to get it instead. I was surprised though cause they actually had several Cobalts on the lot. If I had an 05 or 06 I would have also picked up the 140mph speedo off the G5 too. That thing was pretty sexy.

Definitely something I need to invest in. I cannot stand not having an armrest. Didn't realize how much I would miss it.

Yeah I've gone almost 4 years without one and its recently started to bug me. But I certainly didn't want to pay eBay prices. So far, I'm loving it.

Yeah the armrest price went up either after they ceased production or the parts started to get not so easy to find. Glad I got mine before the markup.

My armrest on the door is fine other than a couple of the plastic studs that hold it on have come loose, but thats an easy fix. But since I dont always drive with my right hand, its nice to have the armrest in the middle too. Typically I drive with my left hand, so the center armrest was definitely needed. I just wish GM hadnt been so damn cheap and just put them in all the cars.

I think I got mine for cheaper than even CED had them listed while they still had them. They are out there still, I just had to be patient and wait for the right deal to come along.

It's so much easier driving with your left hand. Lay your right arm on the armrest and grab a gear.

Exactly! I was really surprised about how perfectly my arm was positioned while resting on the armrest to just reach out and the shift knob was like perfectly in my hand. Now I can shift gears like a boss! haha
