Armrest SS people...

I'd really like to get a center armrest for my car, but before I spend money, I just wanna know if it gets in the way while shifting the car. What do you guys think?

I thought the same thing as well (asked the same question too! LOL) I think you'll find if you are average build you'll be fine. I think anyone TALLER or with longer arms than I may not particularly care for it BUT I see factory manual cars (just not SS) with this arm rest everyday so I think you'll be ok; I love mine!

It's nice, but most of the time when I'm driving I leave it in the upright position. It DOES get in the way of the parking brake. Bad.

Ooh, that whole parking brake situation kinda sucks but I may be willing to deal with it. One of the techs in my service department said he thinks they didn't install the armrest from the factory because the recaros are wider than the standard seats and cause some interference. Any truth to this?

Oh and yes it does make E-Brake Engagement a little tricky but I got used to it immediately

Correct, they interfered with the Recaros. Actually they rubbed.

The armrest only interfers with the handbrake. It just tips up and out of the way though.

I've had an armrest in with my factory cloth, regular leathers and now recaro's. doesn't bother me at all with any of them. I'll double check on the rubbing part but i haven't noticed anything. I open it every day cuz my opener is in it. Also i never put my armrest up. You learn to use the e-brake around it real quick.

I put one in my 08 SS/TC.. It gets in the way of the parking brake (can be really annoying) but I would rather have it than not.... There was no place to put extra things in the car prior... Oh, and mine does not rub on my seats.....

i added the armrest and love it. its not that bad to get the ebrake, esp for the added value of more storage and and having the arm rest.
