BC2 Bodykit help!

I recently recieved a BC2 bodykit and was told that it would cost x amount of dollars to put it on...when i brought my car in to the shop and i was all excited to get it painted and put on i was told that the guy who was doing it had a cobalt and that there is no way the kit would fit on the car and it would have to be cut and remolded (or something along those lines) and the price doubled. Now i would imagine that this kit, being made for the car, may need some modificantion but this much?? Im going to call the manufacturer and ask them but has anyone installed the BC2?

ny comments would be helpful

Its claimed to be a direct bolt on. Nothing, fornt-side-or rear should have to molded. Most bodykits don't. Just paint it, and slap it on.

Tell me how it works out. I like the BC2 kit. i had planned on getting it eventually myself.

That is a crazy statement man. That kit shouldn't need the work they are talking about.

Every aftermarket body kit I have put on needed "help" fitting. Not enough to double the price. Not even close.

Take it somewhere else man. I wouldn't trust those guys. They just want more money.

give it a test fit yourself. it's not hard to remove the bumpers. see how the fitment is. if you feel like the fitment is ok as is, just have it painted and put it on yourself. will save you loads of money.

WHat things besides bolting it up were needed? What type of "help"?

Sounds like somebody underestimated the cost and now they want more money. I call BS on the shop for needing to modify the body kit that much to make it fit.

I have had to add extra hardware like a couple extra bolts on side skirts to really hold them in place. I have had to heat up a couple peices to get them where I wanted them (like wraping around corners). All minor adjustments. The urethane kits are little easier to install than fiberglass but it should never be double a quote.

Bodykits are a lot of work but they should know that. I would go elsewhere man.

Yeah nothing major. Little things. Even cuting the kit a little shouldn't result in double the price.
Bodykits aren't the easiest job but they are by far not the hardest.

Thanks everyone. Tomorrow their bodykit guy is going to be back in the shop so I am going to call and see how they just looked at the kit without even trying to put it on the car and assumed it was going to need to be cut...perhaps it needs to be heated so itll wrap around better so it looks to big idunno...seems insane to me...problem is the kit is so damn big so its hard to transport it

I had that kit from Import Trenz and sold it to lOwBaLt who lives out in Toronto. He has it installed on his car. Hit him up and see how it worked out for him.
