Best kind of mud/splash guards?
Best kind of mud/splash guards?
Guys who have purchased fender/mud/splash guards for their cobalts, what is the best kind you have seen so far? I am concerned with the way they fit so they will not look like crap. Winter is coming and I will probably not be getting a beater to driver around, so I am thinking I will need to get some for my SS/TC as well as some kind of bra to protect the front of the car as well.
Eh, i got some from a local auto store. Self tapping screws.
They sure keep the stone chips off, that's for sure! I also have 3M vinyl protection on the nose, A pillers, rocker panels, fronts of all the fenders, and you can see the square behind the rear tire.

And my brother just got ones from GM, Chevy car ones, also self tapping screws.

Anyone who wants to bitch about flaps on a sport car, lets see how long your flapless vehicle holds on to it paint up here!

Are you serious? These cars are as low (from the factory) as you can go while still driving the car around here. Unless you don't like your undercarriage, oil pan, sideskirts, exhaust... and generally hitting everything on every grade change under the sun. Not to mention if you have to drive the car in the winter! You would go nowhere, fast.

Then why add more things to cause more trouble for the buyer to risk? Like in this case "mud flaps""?
Plus IMO, I see no point in mud flaps for our cars anyways.
Why add more stuff for the buyer to risk? What? Mud/Splash flaps protect the paint, whether you like the look of them or not, they do their job.
And how doesn't it make sense? If the car is any lower then factory stance, you greatly risk destroying your undercarriage, exhaust, lip kit, and oil/trans pans.
Yea, cuz you're way down in Texas, where you never see any snow, gravel, or road debris. Up in Canada, we have large rocks that make up a road, called gravel. And when the Dept. of Highways "fix" a paved road, they just tar and gravel it and let you drive over all the tar and gravel to pack in down. Cuz i really want THAT on my car!
Besides, almost every car up here, check that, almost every vehicle up here has flaps from what we have to deal with.
