Heat the emblems up with a Hair dryer and use fishing wire. I myself just removed my rear Chevy badge, used the hair dryer to warm it up and it actually came off pretty easy once it was nice and toasty.

Unless your using some type of metallic fishing line, I doubt that. Nylon fishing lines with a small diameter should not scratch. And should be strong enough to pull through the glue, I would think floss my snap, of course I didn't use floss, so I can't attest to that.

Either one should get the job done, if you have fisihing line great, if not maybe you have floss.

Just take your time and do what everyone else has told you. I was just cussing myself today while I was detailing my car because of the two scratches I put in my trunk while debadging because it was starting to rain and I got in a big ass hurry. I used dental floss but it took a lot because it kept breaking. Also you may want to use a credit card to help get the sticky stuff off after you are done. Just apply Goo Gone and then go over it with the card. Good luck.

Has anybody tried using a pressure washer, I used one on a truck I had and it worked great. No chance of scratching with that.

thats why its scratched, lol. why would you use a credit card? i wouldnt want to rub a rough plastic edge on my clear coat. Googone and thumbs are the best tool. So you might blister, big deal. the paint gets saved.

No it wasn't the credit card that did it, it was the emblem itself as I took it off. The credit car did a great job of taking off the goo without scratching. It's just two scratches from the emblem's corner.

It'd simple as dental floss and decent wax. Dont even need a heat gun.
It' may still be a little sticky when your done, but i just let it be at the time and next time i washed it it was all good

I just used fishing line, no heat gun, its not really needed at all. The sticky crap you can get off with GOO GONE and you don't need a credit card, just rub it off with your finger. It won't hurt.

And a pressure washer definetly will not work.

I used a hairdryer, a blow torch, a few old credit cards, and some goo gone. When you're done you should send the "COBALT" letters to me

Your all going about it the wrong way. What you do is take a Brillo pad and some really strong paint thinner. Let the paint thinner soak for a little while, and then brillo the letters off. If they dont just pry off, with th brillo pad, then stick a sharp knife or pen in there to pry them up.

Just so I dont get in trouble when someone tries this, my word of advice would be: DONT! I am not going to be held responsible. Just look at the other 300+ posts on this to get some good ideas on how to debadge.

What I did is I soaked the backing of the bowtie in WD-40 (or any comparable lubricant), let that set for about 2-3 minutes, and then took 30lb fishing line and pulled. This worked quite quickly. I found that if you wear gloves and then wrap the line multiple times around your fingers you get better grip and leverage.

Afterwards I had to wash my car anyways so I completed that. Then I did a complete paint-clean, polish, and then full wax. No scratches afterwards.

Yea, well. I will agree to that. I really hope no one actually does something like that.
