Best way to remove scratch

So i was lookin at my car today admiring it when i noticed 3 or 4 huge scrapes on the my bumber right in front of my passenger tire. There was a white chalky dusting on them like it was from rocks or something. I have no idea how it got there. Anyways most of them arent that bad but the one is. I used rubbing compound to kinda clean the scratches out then i used come wax. They are better but it still killin me Any suggestions?

You can't necessarily REMOVE a scratch. You shave the clear coat down around the scratch just fractions of a MM. Use ScratchX from Meguire's. It is an abrasive that very gently sands down your clear coat, reducing the depth of the scratch. Then use a clay bar to pull off excess particles, then wash n wax.

GM makes a "Cleaner Wax" that we use at the shop. That works great if you don't want to go nuts, but other than that you can try to use a buffer with some compound. If its through the paint than the only thing to fix it would be filler and paint.

Porter Cable 7336

selection of pads

3M fine rubbing compound

3M Fine scratch remover

Basically, there is no good way unless a machine is used..

Clay bar is a very effective way to clean any sort of dirt/contamination/whatever out of your paint. Just go to like, advance or autozone, and they sell a clay bar kit. Mothers is the brand name.
