Black Emblems

Does anyone know of any company that makes black emblems? I'm not talking about the bowtie. I mean the Cobalt emblem even the SS but like a good OEM quality SS emblem. None of those shitty ones on eBay. I've searched but never found anything.

I just got the overlays and they work great i haven't had any problems with them peeling or anything! If they do just use a lil glue and they will be fine, plus if you buy it and don't like it it is only a couple of bucks so it won't kill you to throw them away!

here is a before and after, don't mind the dirt and bad quality of the pic

Yeah I bought red overlays from ebay and they have held up through rain, sunshine (at temps over 100 degrees) and hurricane winds. And thats with no glue, just peeling and sticking.

I ordered carbon fiber ones from house of grafx or whatever and they sucked ass. They didn't even cover the whole white part of the emblem. I couldn't even return them because they flew out my window when I was driving. Hhaha. I got screwed on that.

But yeah, the SS emblems aren't even that big of a deal. I just don't feel like sanding down each letter of the COBALT emblem. I just want to find them already done in black. Anyone ever seen them?

That one looks good but it's way too much and I'd have to see how it looks in person. I wanted just these emblems but in black and then I guess I could just throw some black vinyls on the SS badges.

If these were in black, they'd be sick.

Got any pictures of them on your car? I'm gonna assume you sanded them right?

no pix, wrecked the car b4 I could put them on... was going for an all red/black theme.... just use 3M emblem tape with some patience to trim to fit

no need to sand them, just used some alcohol and cleaned them really well. The paint I used is made to adhere to plastic specifically. And you'd be putting this back on the rear of the car, so no real threat of chipping.

Yeah, I'm just gonna order the emblems off of ebay so I don't have to cut the 3M tape. They come with adhesive backing so it'll be easier just to take em out of the package and paint em and whatnot. Thanks for the advice. Someone should start making them in black or gunmetal even. I'm sure plenty of people would buy them.

that's the way to go without too much of a hassle, especially getting the letters lined up.

I was able to find actual black overlays that fit the inside of the SS perfectly. Wait for link

www.xenonmods.com

If you can't find them on the website just email them and he'll get back to you.

i got my ss inserts for my 08tc from houseofgrafx.com i believe. they fit fairly nicely but definitely not perfect. up close u can see that the inserts are a little small but from a few feet away u can't tell. they were pretty cheap and def worth it

so, should I paint my "SS" on my 09 or do the overlays? I have already decided to paint my front bowtie and the back one is gone.

That came out great. Did you use plastic paint or automotive paint? I used like Duplicolor paint I got from advanced that was black on the front Chevy emblem. It looks pretty good so I might just do it with that. Also where did you get that keyhole cover?

I already ordered a set of oem cobalt emblems so I don't have to deal with cutting the adhesive and all that. Plus if I ever want to switch back I can. You guys will see it once my cars done and I make a COTM thread. Haha.

Thanks! I used fusion paint (plastic) after a little sanding/cleaning of a new pair I ordered. The keyhole cover I did myself as well, just lots of taping, some light sanding then primer/paint. After I had everything done, the keyhole cover just stood out way too much, so something had to be done about it. Right now I'm working on the turbo badge, white lettering on the inside, and black on the outside...Hopefully it works out to look good!

Yeah I was thinking of doing the same exact thing with the turbocharged badge. Hopefully it looks good. Post some pics when you finish.

The regular vinyl is just the thin vinyl similar to Rambotk3 picture. The liquid domed is similar to the pictures I posted if you look closely you will see they are somewhat raised or 3 dimensional. I sell both types with the liquid domed being more popular. If you want to see some more pictures I have done a ton for the Trailblazer SS you can get an idea of what we do http://www.motorcityvinyl.com/gallery
