Body Kit

Hey I'm looking at body kits for my cobalt, I have a hole in my front bumper from a lovely driver who carelessly threw a piece of freaking wood out of his windows into my car and I'm seeing a few nice kits, but they're all fiberglass. what's the general idea behind that, are fiberglass kits crappy, do they crack easy? keep in mind I like in Rural PA so the roads aren't perfectly smooth by any means. I have scraped a place or two here or there with the stock bumper, and so I don't want to go SUPER low or for that matter, shatter my whole bumper if by mistake I do scrape. Any thoughts? thanks!

we really dont have many people on here with body kits. im not real sure about the fiberglass kits tho, i would think they would crack pretty easy if you hit something.

well see my buddy has the drifter 2 front bumper (fiberglass) and he said he had a bunch of problems with it. Most of his problems seemed to revolve around the people who installed the bumper. I figured maybe he just got a bad install, but I also don't wanna go and buy a whole body kit and look like a 2$ civic in a month, ya know?

I wouldn't buy a fiberglass kit personally...why purchase something even more brittle than your stock stuff...

good point. There just don't seem to be any nice kits for the cobalt that aren't fiberglass, besides maybe the grip tuning kit which is expensive as the dickens.

yes the bc2 kit is fibreglass.

And in all honesty, I find the kit real strong. If you know how to drive and can avoid hitting its good for u

fiberglass spider cracks real easy, and you cant have it in the cold because of the brittleness of it. i had a bomex kit on my cavy that was amazing when i got it and painted it but the moment i put it on it started cracking all over the place, id go with urthane (SP?) much flex, also try and make sure your painter who paints the kit uses a flex base paint

the BC2 is the one I was looking at. that one and the bomber, which i've never seen before. the only urethane kit I've seen so far is the grip tuning one, and the duraflex (which is what the stock bumper is made from, right?) has only drifter 2 versions, and racer version, both of which I'm not too fond of. anyone know any other kits i'm not seeing?
