its illegal in all 50 states. just dont go pitch black and wont have a problem.

 

Not sure if this is still true or not, but several years ago in Florida, if you had tinted tail lights and were rear-ended, you recieved the ticket, not the jack@$$ who hit you. Reign is right, though, call your local law enforcement and ask to be 100%.

 

I've never had a problem and mine are dark..3rd brake and sidemarkers..I've had cops right behind me at times too..but i guess I will just wait and see..btw had them on for almost a year now.
