Brightest BULBS are the HIR technology

I think our headlights are 9007?

GE/toshiba HIR's
http://finemotoring.com/

Or philips x-treme which are a knock off of those HIR's and are pretty damn good

I don't feel like making another set again. lol.

Taking the lazy man route.
If he doesn't respond back with a time I'll let you know when mine come in, I just ordered a set Sunday night. Right now the parts are delayed due to the flight ban in Europe from the volcano eruption.

i can tell you first hand sylvania's are junk!!!!! i was going through them every 2 weeks. i ended up finding a lil tuning type shop here in calgary owned and runed by some old japanese guys. who happened to have a bulb from japan that they get brought over. they are more blue but the quality is really good. so far they have not burnt out on me and they have been in there for 2 months now lol. i was very happy with them and the price was reasonable too. 35 canadian.

I'll go buy those philips x-tremes and compare them to stock, but they shouldnt burn out like silver stars, the ppl on the vibe forum (w/ drls as well) are running them and love them.

Go get Sylvania Silverstar Ultra's then and call it good, trust me you will be satisfied. Nice white look with good visibility, you can buy them for much less online. I have had Nokia arctic whites, they are blue, not white... I have had PIAA's, twice as much as the Silverstars and not nearly as good. Plus with my experience, silverstars seems to last longer, haven't had to replace yet. I was replacing Nokia's every 3-6 months.

it's funny you say this coz i was going through them every 2 weeks. 1 side would burn out then the other side would go 2 weeks later.

Did you clean them with alcohol first and make sure not to touch them? I have had my Ultrastars running for a year now, that about the longest I have had any aftermarket bulb last. You mean the ultrastars right? I went through 4 sets of Nokias on my old ss/tc. and some xtravisions..

My two cents on silverstar ultras. I have run them in h7 form in my old saab 9-5 and in 9007 form housed in a pontiac sunfire. I installed one set in the sunfire and got 2 years of service with 1 hour of night driving at least 5 days a week. In the Saab I was replacing them every other month until I stepped it down to the plain Silverstars. I drove on the standard silverstars for just under 9 months before the first blew out on the way to work in the AM, the second one blew out 20 minutes later with 30 minutes of commute left @ 0500 PST in March. The Saab had DTR full on and I was insulted at the notion of paying one of the local shops to tech2 my car into manual mode so I drove on.

THe Ultras have a boat load of output that was necessary for the Sunfire to be safe and plainly excessive in the 9-5 for standard beams.

The plain edition Silverstars waaaaaay out lasted the Ultras despite getting a similar "Lamp Life" rating on the Sylvania retail package and are solid an improvement over run of the mill bulbs for the price imo.

All lamps installed in the saab were Osram branded made in Germany, the units in the Sunfire were Sylvania branded Hencho en USA

I am quite satisfied with the light spread from the Cobalt so far. Far and away superior to the Sunfire, anyway.

Other than HIR's the two best halogen lights you can get are Osram Nightbreakers and Philips Xtreme power bulbs.

Sylvania's commercials and magazine ads don't lie. You'll get a wider and longer projection. Their Silverstar lineup is as good as it gets without going to HIDs.
I swapped them in my parents car, my wife's car, and my DD. They are awesome.

not big on the silverstars....way overpriced, I went with hid look alikes hipro power 5900k, white with a little blue tint brighter than stock....just till my projectors and hid kit come in

oh, and they were only 22 bucks for headlights and fogs

Yeah, they do seem to be priced for maximum "research funding" in mind
