Brighter Tail Lights

Hey everyone. I just recently redid the niteshades on my tail light and now it is to the point that it is almost too dark. The brake lights show thru good when the brake is actually depressed but as far as running lights they are almost not noticable. I was thinking that there may be an LED replacement bulb for these but wasnt sure. The only alternative that I found was the Star LED bulbs from Cobalt-addictions.com but they are pretty expensive. Anyone have any ideas?

I know this is an old thread, but i put night shades on my car(maybe went a little to dark with it) and it looks great, IMO. I tried led bulbs from autozone and it just dont have enough side light output. well I was looking on ebay and came accross these. You guys think something like this would work since it has leds on the side(which would actually hit the reflective material on the tail lights? heres the link.

They look like they would be bright and they are 24W but not sure how that compares to a stock bulb.

EDIT:
I did some searching around and I found that a typical stock bulb has puts out about 5 to 10 watts depending on the brand. That means the ones on ebay would be around 2.5X to 4X brighter than a stock bulb. I also seen some that go as hight as around 30 watts
