Buyhids.com retros?

I'm considering buying the full retro kit from buyhids.com that comes with new headlights, can anyone attest to the quality and output of the product.

They are good but not the best. There are definitely better options out there. What they don't tell you is that replacement bulbs are $150 a piece. You're better off buying a higher quality kit off the bat that uses a standard bulb type.

They are only $20 a pair for bulbs. and if the bulbs fail I'll probably replace them with the good ones from the retrofitsource.com.

What is the bulb type? If you're going on vacation i can't wait that long to have 1 headlight out. It's starting to get dark real early here. If the warranty process takes some i might have to buy 1 in the meantime.

THanks,

Derek

They are 150$ a peice shipped as they are only made when a retrofit kit is ordered. i HIGHLY recommend you wait for warranty lol. If you have 6k i can ship that right away. I will send you an email now.

That is why you do a TRUE retrofit with a D2S bulb.

Only cost you the price of the bulb or ballast if it goes.

They say there is a warranty. Good luck using it. I was told that a halo going out after a week was my fault. All connections are secure. But, I look at it as less stress on my part to just unpower them both instead of fight with them on this.

Cut off is weird too. I've gotten used to it tho

Bulbs are custom made to fit the projectors. Thats why they so much. I bought the DIY retro kit from their group buy. Huge hassle but love em.

''EDIT'' Opps didnt see someone already posted it lol.

$150 is alot for a bulb. Is there any way to convert to the DS2 bulb or any other places that sell retrofits that are cheaper? Nothin against mkruley but that's an awful lot.

While I think they are the nicest looking of the ebay projectors they really aren't meant for hids (they will work though), and the product quality is questionable (stress cracks...). The benefit of the buyhids.com headlights is that they use OEM housings and lenses.

Be better off grabbing them from buyhids.com and just not worrying about the halos? not really that big a fan anyways.

When the wire gets pulled from the halo..that is not something we can warranty. its user error. We have no issue fixing it if you provide the shipping cost.

Did they raise the price of the group buy for the retros? I thought it was like 120ish, but when I looked the other day they were 189.99.
