buying new shift knob

Does anyone have a website where I can buy a new shift knob for a 2006 manual cobalt? I just bought my balt and want to get a new shifter, I have heard that you need to have a specific knob to keep the boot up.

If you have a SS/SC or SS/TC then you need a special shift knob. Momo and Sparco make reverse lockout knobs but I'm not sure how well they work with stock shifter units. If you dont have and SC or TC then any knob should work for you. The boot slides up and down the shaft and if it slides down I'm sure you could just put a rubber o ring or something on the shaft to keep the shift boot up. I used double sided 3M tape and it worked pretty good.

Yeah I'm pretty sure any knob will work they. Its threaded on so you should be able to get a knob thats held on with the three screws.

The knob doesn't thread on tho, the boot treads onto the knob then the knob just pulls up.

This is true, there's just a .25" flat milled on the shifter. I was looking for knobs but got lazy after the first few results are all for threaded ones. I'll just save my time and get a whole TWM kit, since then i can machine my own knobs at school =D

Shouldn't any universal knob fit it then?

That is what I want to know before I buy one, do all knobs come threaded or do some come non threaded. Because I just need one that will slid on and I will be able to figure something out to keep the boot up.

Wouldn't know/can't remember. I looked 2 years ago and when i saw it came with various thread inserts I just looked over it and forgot about it.
