can someone please tell me what those things on top of the window on the doors. what are they called? what do they do? do they just look cool?

Rain guards or something along those lines (wind deflector?), you can have the windows cracked while it's raining.

Vent visors, you can crack your window in the rain and not get wet. Helps with defrosting the windows also.
