$1500 for an avic-d3? not ever. you can get one with pretty much all the adapters for around $600 off of ebay.
You'll like it though, I have one, it kicks ass.

i went to bestbuy and found this same one , for like 1400.. idk

if u look them up on like the retail stores..the in dash screens are not that much...but the ones with gps are def jacked up, to what i seen at like bestbuy etc to like 1000 on sale..

the only thing my boy told me, is that the pioneer has some safety, that the screen shuts off when u Drive...but he said he fixed the wires so that it wont shut off....does ur screen shut off wen u drive?

i def wanna keep my on while driving, maybe pop in a **** while driving or something, lol

1400 at best buy? wtf.... its 699 at best buy where I live. weird. Yes the screen shuts off when you drive if you have a movie playing... the bypass mod is simple though.. took me about 5 min to do. You can use the navigation fully & watch movies while driving once you do it.

Doesnt the GPS on this unit have to run off of CDs. That was one thing that pissed me off with the pioneeer units and i went with kenwood instead

Only when you enter in your destination, once you've done that & it's done loading, then you can take out the dvd map & it stores the destination on its internal memory, then you can pop in a movie or music or whatever.

So what'd you actually pay? lol. I've never used that one, but I've used others like it before.. I'd love to replace my basic Alpine CD player with one like that.. In-dash GPS instead of the tacky little cube.. lol.

Yeah i know, I got shafted on that deal, 2007+ cobalts need that GMOSLAN04 harness which is $130 like you said because it retains all of your factory warning chimes. If I only bought my car a year earlier.... then again, the 2006 steering wheel is fugly so I'm happy. lol.

I've had 2 different radios in mine.. Kenwood first, then my Alpine.. Didn't do that dumb $170 harness.. Eff those chimes.. lol. Really though I can't even tell anymore.. The key one still works (when you open the door).. I'm not even sure what goes off and what doesn't.. It passes inspection, so who cares.. lol. Do you need anything special to run this unit or does it just plug in like normal and you need the cd/antenna for using the GPS? What kind of dash kit do you need? Can you get it through Crutchfield or some other place easier..?

wait, so that was my next question cuz im wondering how much i will have to pay to get it installed.....i already have a pioneer CD deck in my car now, so will that wiring harness and shitt work for my dvd player. mind u, i dont need any wires for the steering wheel or anything. plus i know the dash kit is cheap too right, usually like 30 40$... but will i need any more wires? i have all the wires that and the harness that come with it, plus the harness thats on my deck right now, im hoping i wont need another harness for this one..

and im payin like $500 for it.. can't say that is a bad price honestly
