Car paint/finish
Car paint/finish
maybe this belongs here?
I use Meguiar's for everything... Ultimate Quik Detailer, Ultimate Quik Wax, their microfiber towels and such... I havent washed it but once and i used their Gold Wash stuff... I have little scratches that you cant really even see unless the light is hittin it and ur lookin right at it. dam cat slid down the front of my car and their are little claw marks. Prolly gonna pick up some Swirl X and Scratch X for that...
I was wondering what other people used to clean their cars, protect paint, remove scratches, yada yada, and if you prefer certain products over others.

*sigh... they def not swirls... they are very distinct lines
i found another spot on my door where my dog jumps on the car apparently and their's a scratch down the side by my door handle
i need to invest in a cover... some of the marks are worse than others... like the ones on the door
and the one on the back over the tier
but the couple lines on the hood aren't bad...
the car i had before this one would get little streaks in the finish and i figured out that their were like little pieces of wood or something in my towel...
now that sux... i had noticed it on the hood like the first couple of wipes.. i didn't finish it lol but i was like OMG NOOOO!!! so i only buy brand new ones when i clean it..

I had the issue with one of my cats constantly getting on my 'balt but only at night... smart ******. So, when I found out which of my two cats it was (he left white hairs behind), I bought a fold-up kennel and started locking him up every night @ 10pm. Haven't had one cat print or scratch since.
About the dogs, you just need to train those heathens... mine are trained AND are in their 1/4 acre fence during the day.

I don't think our clear coat is too thick... too many times with a buffer and you'll have that clear coat gone. I've never tried the Scratch X or Swirl X by Meguire's, but I do only use their products so it couldn't do more harm than good.
Honestly, I'd call around your area and see how much someone would charge to buff, glaze, seal, and wax your car; it'll look like new again. But don't do that until you've solved the cat problem, SERIOUSLY. Or ask around here in your region to see about a local guy who could probably cut you a deal.
