NO, not everyone thought it was real carbon......wasnt it just you that started that whole "is it real or not" ordeal? Again, whyTF would you just cover something with carbon fabric, and not resin it?????

It was never said it was real.

These all look like carbon fiber, but arent "real" cf......and hey....they look shockingly like what the OP has.

Maven who said anything about covering something in cf and not resining it. just shut up about it. he's just asking the op to confirm ffs.

I thought carbon fiber was a strong light material that benifited body panels and ****, why do you need REAL carbon in the interior where it serves no purpose but looks. If it looks real, who cares if it is. If you had fake carbon fiber hood or something then you need a smack.

ok in an easy way to explain it....dry carbon fiber is vacuum formed/infused with no additional layers of carbon fiber. it has a dry look to it unlike multiple layers of resin on top for depth etc.

i'll admit...on the photos it looks like dry carbon fiber but in person anyone who works with the stuff will know.

oh and also obviously like you asked and then answered in your own post lol ....carbon fiber interior pieces are for looks and are mostly "wet" carbon fiber appearance.

The wallet says it's real cf maven.

And dude, everyone was like oh that **** is hot, looks perfect, I want I want  I don't think their was 1 member that said it didn't look real. You tell me who thought it wasn't real.

I guess op looked at the back of his trim. I hope he didn't think it was real.

All in all it does look good. But I wouldn't put fake cf anywhere on my car.

I personally like the carbon fibre "look" and carbon fibre "textured" vinyl and leather upholstery products that are on the market, I think they are a cool alternative to smooth leathers that offer no depth and tend to actually look cheap or in some way out of place in a car like a Cobalt, they are also easier to maintain than either leather OR textured fabrics. I really like the way it looks in this guys car, and I was 100% sure it was a "carbon fibre style product" ( lol) and actually would have been extremely shocked had this been a prepreg or other dry style true carbon fiber.

As usual I dont understand why people feel the need to bash others for what they think are questionable upgrades. This guy was obviously very happy with his install and wanted to share with us. If you dont like the way it looks, great. If you think putting fake carbon fibre on your car is a big faux pas, great. Why are some of you guys after this kids throat because he said "Carbon fibre fabric" and its not an actual carbon fibre wrap? If he had said he got carbon fibre leather interior would you have called him out and told him they arent real carbon? or made marks regarding how you feel carbon fibre leather is still fake and you would never use it? I'll bet your the same guys with leather grained vinyl sneakers, or leather with some exotic animal print on it and would be real pissed if people started pointing out that your Airforce Ones arent real alligator skin.

grow the f*ck up.

What's ur problem bro. I just want real cf in my car. That's all. What do you care what my ride is like. I know it's got no go but it does have show. And that's all I'm interested in. So just get back on topic.

I'm rubbing my thumb and index finger tips you know. Worlds smallest violin. I ain't bashing anyone. I though it was real and gave examples as to what looked funny. I just asked if it was real. I did say it looked good. I hope you read THAT post. So there's no bashing here. No one said it looked like **** or sumthin like that, right?!
