Carbon Fiber Hood

Hey guys, I'm looking into getting a carbon fiber hood. I saw this oem style one and I was wondering if anyone has ever order this one::

Versus Motorsport - The leader in affordable aftermarket bodykits.

It says it needs hood pins, but I wasn't sure if it really requires hood pins or if its one of those things that they put in all of their hood ads. Thanks!

I have a CF hood and it held down fine without hood pins. I'm actually selling it if you're interested. It's the SS style hood but colormatched black.

Unless you drive on like the Autobahn or you plan on road racing it, I wouldn't worry about hood pins. I gotta get some for my SS style hood in the next few weeks, if fundage allows. Pisses me off because I hate how hood pins look, but it's a safety requirement.

Gonna see if I can get the ones that are a little more subtle.

Yeah I really have no intentions of racing, I just need a new hood; something that wont rust and I've always dug the way CF looks. In the future I may hit the track. I was just wondering if that company I put the link to in the op is a good one. I don't want to buy something and then have it turn out to be a piece of crap.

Just found this post. You ever get these, I didnt know about them till just now, this seems to be the best price I've found, I'd like some additional safety for my c/f hood.

Nice. Yeah mine seems to fit fine and doesn't flop around, but I wouldn't road race it without them.

It's $180 for the track here. I have a gift certificate to go for free, but the gas is going to hurt. Depending on how much track time we get, it's a minimum of a 2 tank day, sometimes 3.
