Carbon fiber trunk?
Carbon fiber trunk?
Every carbon fiber trunk i have seen on a cobalt doesnt look good at all....
Idk if this is because people buy it from one dealer but is there a carbon fiber trunk that actually will be flush to our back instead of being raised to the rest of the back...
Also Ive noticed that the bottom of the trunk has like half a inch to the bumper which is really visible
I mean do they not make carbon fiber trunks that will fit perfectly to the rest of our body??

yes, my trunk lid sits a tad bit high closer to the back and doesnt sit close to the bumper. I mean come on its CF....and besides nothing aftermarket fits perfectly unless you pay $$$$$
There are two reasons for this really. The first being you get what you pay for, so if you don't go out and get a high quality cf piece it may not work right. Second is that many times alignment issues are because of the installer. Many DIYers don't take the time to properly align things so that they get a nice clean install look. It's possible to get a good install you may have to work with the latch and other things in order to get it all to line up correctly. Some people don't know how to do this and others are just lazy. The point is, most people just throw on a part and call it done so they can run off and brag to their friends. Those people are hacks. Someone who really cares about the look of their car will take the time to do it right, which often is a pain in the ass but true car guys will notice the effort taken even if your friends don't. Personally I don't understand why someone would spend hundreds of dollars and not take the time to install everything so that it looks clean and properly aligned.
i havent had any issues with mine, but then again, kenny is a perfectionist when it comes to body work and installs. the fitment on these pieces have been very good though..better then a lot others i have come across through my years of doing up cars.
I have tried adjusting mine. I think the reason it doesnt sit all the way down is becuz of the rubber weather stripping for the trunk. I took the dampers off the trunk and it still sat the same. Oh and I am a DIYer and I take time in installing my parts. I like to show off my car so I hate when things arent fitting right. Some things just dont fit perfect...i hate to say it but its true.
hey playswithcars dont worry your car looks good its just the fact that im the type of person who likes performance mods just as much as the looks of the car.... But im saying if i spend the 850 to 900 dollars ona hood and 500 dollars on a trunk i want them to sit perfectly along with looking good
