is this thing just glued on?for some reason mine has a dent in it from the previous owner.i would like to take it off and pop it out.

 

Yea you can pop it out but your pretty much going to bend it getting it out.

Ur gonna bend it cuz it's a thin sheet of aluminum

 

yeah it bent slightly.i had a dent in it anyway.pushed it out,cut the metal tabs off.i painted it flat blsck with my other trim and put some double sided taped on it.looks better then new.

 

Mine has a dent in it too... but I am not gonna risk that thing becoming a flying projectile at my face should the airbags ever go off...

 

i guess thats your way of saying its not a good idea.i will take the chance.

 

yes it's attached with 6 tabs, that fit in slots on the cover , this is very thin alum., you can pry it off, straighten it, cut the tabs off and glue it back on, or buy a new airbag, may be able to buy just the emblem, try gmpartsdirect.com, much cheaper than the dealer

or try junkyards for center caps...not sure if it will work but they look the same

 

yeah mines dented too
theres one on ebay but they want 25+shipping for it i think thats kinda expensive


does anyone know if the center caps will indeed fit for a 08?
