Honestly, that's a crap shoot. Pros...they weigh less, add a bit of styling, and depending on the version it could add some extra cooling on the blower.
Cons...alot of upkeep to keep the clear coat from cracking, needs to be of high quality or the clear coat doesn't stand a chance, and if not well put together your hood latch has a chance of ripping free and then the hood flies up in ur face.

Ive been running one for three years now on this car, and 4 years on a previous vehicle. as soon as you buy one or get one from someone, take it to a shop and have it buffed of the gelcoat and have a clear coat applied and youll never have to worry about upkeep on it again any more than the rest of the car. weigh reductions is a plus. fitment is hit or miss. luckily both my hoods ive had have fit mint.

ive been slacking on installing my hoodpins, cruising at about 60 i can actually watch my hood wobble on the wind. also your hood shock has to come out, it is a bit of a pain to have to explain to a grease monkey how to prop it up and close it.
You guys do realize that weight reduction is almost non-existant on these cars right? Our stock hood and trunk just aren't that heavy. Carbon Fiber on these cars is more for just looks.
yea i might be the same way if i always seen my car, i work away from home so i only see if one week a month. so when i actually get the chance to race someone they know i got some **** done. but i also think it kills alot of races for me, cuz they know i got some **** done.

My hood was free so I'm at no cost out of pocket. I think it changes the look of the whole front end. Plus it helps me at car shows and what makes my car stand out here and locally amongst other balts
