CF Hood and Trunk!

hey guys, just got a carbon fiber hood and trunk for my 08 Cobalt SS. I wanted to go wingless because I was getting annoyed trying to position my head awkwardly to see fully to the rear. I definitely love the wingless route and am keeping it this way. There is a considerable weight reduction too. Not enough to provide a huge increase in performance but I got it more for the look, and the wingless! Here are some pics I took, not the greatest quality but I will get some more pics with a better camera that can actually show the contrast lol. Let me know what you guys think. BTW I was the one that did my interior in suede so I know there will be some that don't like either and will be like "WTH DID YOU DO?!", etc but this is what I wanted for form and functionality in my eyes. Hope you like!

I've been wanting to do that to mine for a while. I just can't see spending the money on that when I have some much other stuff to spend the money on.

CF looks horrible on a black car IMO.... I am eventually going to do the same as the OP but the trunk and hood will be painted.

Not too worried about weight on the front, its not really an issue unless your drag racing, I am going to go with CF hood, fenders, trunk, and eventually do some CF mod in the interior. No one will know its CF by looking at it because it will all be painted. I want way less weight because I am getting into autocross, thats where the weight reductions shows its true colors

Not a fan of CF on black cars. But that's just me. Like the wingless though.

I personally love the carbon fiber look. It was mostly to go wingless because I looked around to see how much it would cost to get the bolt holes from the wing filled in on the trunk and then painted. It would have been $300. I looked around for the hood and trunk combo (because I think it looks retarded to JUST have the trunk as I didn't want it painted). Found a place near me that gave it to me for $700 taxes in. I was sold. They did a pretty good job too. Thats why I did it.

Arrow Update

Alright guys, got a better camera to take some pics that actually show the depth of the carbon fiber and a decent resolution to show the contrast and how good it looks. I know it's not for all of you but I love it.
Hope you enjoy!

haha ya I agree, I love carbon fiber! And thanks for the compliments! There are still things that I need to do. Like I want to lower it but I like the stock suspension, I don't want a harsher ride. And besides, I like having a bumper and any lower I'de be afraid it would be ripped off (or destroy the intercooler as some have done) or just be useless in the snow. So that is why I won't. Interior isn't completely done yet. I have some spare carbon fiber and I wanted to wrap the trim in it. Not sure how to but I am sure I can figure it out lol
