i think a flat splitter honestly wouldnt like right on these cars. i think on any springs that are made for the car they still sit to high off the ground for a splitter. i think splitters only loook right on cars that are low to the ground.

also one thing i was looking at with the roof cap. if we are going to have to drill out the spot welds like its been said more then likely both the front and the rear glass will have to be removed since our oem roof goes behind the weatherstrip seal for the windows.
Yep the glass would then have to be removed more than likely. Installing glass isn't hard to do with the right stuff. Having a glass company remove and replace the glass would probably run $150 for two windows, since they are not replacing glass.

$3000 for a Cobalt is high price , i agree. I am making a cf lip it may extend down lower and i would want to build out the front lower portion of the lip to stick out 1/2" further than oem.
Why can't you get a Cobalt lower to the ground ? Aren't there spring companies making a 2" drop spring? Or is it wheel or steering clearance issue? If the wheels rub on the inner fenders... remove them cut the springs down more. Essentially what i'm asking is what is needed to obtain just a 3" ground clearance on the front splitter? If it is a part that can be designed and made to lower the car more, let me know.

well with the 08 09 cobalts is they come with an 18x8 and most people switch to that anyways. a lot of guys with summer tires put 235-45-18 or run a stock spec 225-45-18. i could maybe go a half inch lower up front before theres going to be clearance issues with the tires. i dont like the stretched look at all so i settle with where im at. but even with my current drop up front i need steering rack spacers so that theres no bump steer. realistically i could just make a front lip that drops down farther and extends like you said.

LOL... good one!

I looked at an 07 SS today.... even with 1 inch drop springs in front there is plenty of room for a real splitter. Even to lower the lip 1 or 2 inches and maintain ground clearance... but with 1" drop springs I would not make the lip more than 1 inch lower than it is factor ss. So the car will clear those retarded speed bumps.

Just don't drive into parking curbs up front and there will be no issues. Takes a little getting used to for some peoples parking styles.

You guys need the Lamborghini option... electrically raises the front of the car 2 inches to clear speed bumps

Remember with faux rear diffusers it's like driving with a parachute on the back of the car, major wind drag and screws up aerodynamics of the car. A real functional diffuser will help with aerodynamics.

faux = totally poseur.

I personally wouldn't mind movin back out there, but my whole family is here and my g/f's mom has a life threatening disease and I have a hard enough time getting her to move 15 miles away, let alone across the country lol

On topic tho, I'm sending in a **** ton of parts to him. Mostly interior things. Sending in all the engine covers too. Would you be willing to donate your car to him temporarily so he can fab up a PCM cover? That's something that I can't help with atm lol Hopefully I can get enough stuff done that he can get a vendor license on this site and everyone else can take advantage of what he's offering. I'll be posting pics of the products as soon as I get them back in and installed so everyone can see the quality/fitment too. From other things I've seen in CF for cars in general, his prices are extremely fair.

i cant be without my car and he lives a good bit away but i would be fine with going back over to his place so he could mock something up, what are you looking for? just a cover that connects to the fusebox somehow?

actually it would most likely just connect to the plastic piece that the PCM sits in and kinda just slide over. it would most likely have to be shaped like this:
----------
ll llllll ll
ll llPll
ll llCll
ll llMll
ll lllllll
ll

sorry, I'm horrible at this whole drawing thing with letters and symbols, but i think you can get the idea lol it'd basically be like a slip cover to go over the PCM

I hope this works out for everyone else on the site...I think the community would benefit from a person who could supply affordable, good quality CF for our cars. plus, i don't wanna go thru all this "testing" on my car for nothing. I mean, it'll be nice having the parts and stuff, but i'm really tryin to help out fellow peoples on this site.
